Hopewell police are investigating a shooting that left a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Police said they responded at 12:54 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of South 21st Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken by helicopter to VCU Medical Center. Police said he is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators haven’t established a clear motive for the shooting but are looking into a possible link to a fight that occurred earlier Monday evening.
