Election day, November 7th, is fast approaching. Who are you going to choose to be the next governor?

Let us talk about the turmoil of this election. Both Dr. Ralph Northam and Ed Gillespie have been campaigning more than ever, but these campaigns have been far from civil.

The President of the United States has even thrown in a couple of callous statements in regards to the gubernatorial election.  The President recently stated, “Northam will be “weak on crime” and “doesn’t even show up to meetings/work.” This resulted in Dr. Ralph Northam tweeting, “I served 8 years in the Army, took care of sick kids, and am running to build a more inclusive Virginia. Don’t talk to me about showing up.”

To add fire to these ridiculous playground bully antics, This week Hampton University released a new poll showing Gillespie ahead at 41 percent to Northam’s 33 percent.  27 percent of those polled were undecided. But, there are quite a few other polls that have stated quite the opposite.

As The Washington Post states, “Virginia is purple trending blue: Democrats have carried it in three consecutive presidential races, they have won three of the past four gubernatorial contests, and both U.S. senators are Democrats.”

The time is coming for Virginians to get out and vote in this gubernatorial election. The nation will be watching quite attentively as this election can be the gauge for the rest of the United States.
