Colonial Heights Police say they have arrested a former officer after discovering that he had downloaded videos from a suspect’s phone onto his own phone.
The former officer, 30-year-old Bryan Glinn Drake, is charged with three counts of misdemeanor embezzlement and three counts of obstruction of justice.
Police say during an arrest in March of 2017, Drake transmitted videos from the suspect’s phone onto his own. The department suspended Drake when they learned of the allegations and launched an investigation.
During the initial investigation, Drake resigned. Police continued to investigate, and the case was presented to a grand jury.
Drake is out on $1,000 bond. He will be in court on Feb. 27.
