A Richmond Sheriff’s Deputy Was Hit With Car By Suspect

An off-duty Richmond Sheriff’s Deputy working security was hit by a vehicle Saturday around 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store located on 1640 West Broad Street.

Police say the officer was at the store working in a security capacity when he spotted a male suspect shoplifting. He confronted the man and was able to retrieve the stolen items, the suspect then got into a vehicle driven by another man who hit the officer with the vehicle.

The deputy was treated on the scene for a minor injury.

Police found the vehicle abandoned nearby.
