Breaking: A person was just shot in the chest at Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights







10:00 P.M.

Police are currently responding to a shooting at Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights. Details are scarce at the time of this report. The call came in at 1:28 P.M. Sources say that the EMT’s entered the insecure scene near Pacsun to treat the victim that was shot in the chest. They are now transporting the victim to VCU Medical Center. We are told the victim is is in critical but stable condition.

The mall was on lockdown for a few hours. The suspects and the victim knew each other according to Colonial Heights police.

The mall posted on their Facebook page the following message.

“We are aware of an incident that required the mall to lockdown at the recommendation of local law enforcement. Police have confirmed that there is no longer an active threat at the property.”

They are expecting the mall to resume normal operations soon.

    But wait, the sign on each entry door says no guns allowed. Goes to show you that only law abiding people follow the laws and rules. Ok, maybe he just couldn’t read. I refuse to shop anywhere that posts these signs.
