RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – As many as 15 children are being treated for minor injuries at VCU Medical Center after a fuel tanker crashed into the bus they were riding in on Friday morning.
Police say the bus was transporting as many as 45 students to Franklin Military Academy when the tanker clipped the rear end of the bus near Cool Lane and Mechanicsville Turnpike near Armstrong High School around 7:30 a.m.
The students who were taken to the hospital complained of neck and back pain. The rest were cleared and released.
School officials say most of the students on board were middle and high school students.
There is no information on whether any charges will be filed.
