Show This To Everyone

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe chuckled atreporters asking him about president-elect Donald Trump’s claim that there was “serious voter fraud” in the Commonwealth.

This past weekend the president-elect tweeted several thoughts on the election, including that Virginia, California, and New Hampshire had “serious voter fraud.”  Gov. McAuliffe responded on Monday following a private meeting with state political and business leaders to discuss state finances and the fiscal outlook for 2017.

“All I say is when you make an allegation, put proof behind it,” said McAuliffe. “Every single organization that does political fact-checking has that as 100 percent erroneous.”

McAuliffe went on to say that he believes President-elect Trump may have been referring to felons who had their rights legally restored, however McAuliffe put that number at around 20,000 votes while Trump lost Virginia by more than 200,000.

President-elect Trump also tweeted over the weekend that in addition to winning the electoral college, he won the popular vote if “you deduct the millions of people voting illegally.”
