Hopewell police need the public’s help in finding a man accused of an armed robbery at a Rite Aid.
Officers responded to the drugstore located at 2305 Oaklawn Boulevard. They believe the suspect entered the store, approached the pharmacist, and asked for Oxycodone.
According to police, the pharmacist asked for his prescription, and the suspect lifted his jacket and shirt and revealed a handgun in his waistband. He also requested the drug again.
The pharmacist then called police and ignored commands the offender was making, according to Hopewell officials.
The suspect is described as a black man, between 19 to 25 years old, 5-feet-8-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a black hoodie with writing on the front over a white t-shirt. He was also wearing dark-colored shoes, sunglasses, and had a silver handgun.
The Hopewell Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating this crime.
