Richmond, VA – The City of Richmond invites everyone to the 14th annual Imagine Festival which celebrates the richness of RVA communities. The festival will be held at Broad Rock Sports Complex, 4802 Warwick Road, from noon to 5 p.m. on October 20 and will showcase an array of community performers, cultural foods, exhibits, arts, crafts and fun activities for the entire family. Admission to the event is free.
Several local community groups will perform throughout the day and more than 50 area organizations will be providing information about their services. This year, the festival will include performances from Claves Unidos, River City Taiko, Sudanese Association, Sacred Heart Folklorico, Happiness Dance Studios, MECA international Folklore, Salsa Guy’s Bomba y Plena, and more.
In addition, the programs Una Vida Sana and La Casa de la Salud will offer free health screenings and preventive care.
“The Imagine Festival is a great opportunity to highlight Richmond’s diversity and for people to experience various cultures together,” said Mayor Levar Stoney. “I invite all city residents, visitors, friends and family to join us and help celebrate One Richmond.”
This year’s partners and sponsors include the enRichmond Foundation, VHDA, BB&T Home Mortgage, Department of Housing and Community Development, DJ Peluche and many other community groups and organizations.
