Man airlifted after Dinwiddie accident

Wednesday afternoon around 1:16 p.m., the Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at the 13500 block of Cox Road (Route 751). 

The trooper’s preliminary investigation reveals that a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon, driven by, Carl Childers, 46, of Dinwiddie, Va. was traveling eastbound on Route 751 when he entered into a curve and lost control going off road left.  Childers then came back onto roadway, running off road right, and striking a utility pole.  

Childers was not wearing his seat belt.  He was transported by Med Flight for treatment of serious injuries.  

Speed is being considered a factor into the cause of the crash.  Charges are pending at this time. 

The crash remains under investigation.
