Two men were asked to leave the Walmart in Short Pump this week after they put a dead deer in a shopping cart and rolled it into the store.
A witness says the deer was hit by a car in front of the Walgreens on Broad Street. The men cleaned the deer off the road and planned to have a friend come pick it up and carry it away.
However, it was cold Tuesday night, so to keep warm, the men went inside the Walmart and took the deer with them while they waited for their friend.
Shoppers weren’t happy, so a manager asked the men to leave – and to take their dead deer with them.
In a statement from Walmart: “We can assure customers that the deer carcass never got into the store. It remained in the vestibule, far from any produce or sensitive areas, and the gentlemen were promptly asked to leave immediately.”
