One person has died, another airlifted in Prince George accident

Crews in Prince George responded to an accident on the 4300 block of Mount Sinai Road. Responding crews reported a vehicle with heavy damage that was in the woods.

Sources say that one person has died, and another person was transported by Medflight.

Clarence Thomas, 37, of Chesterfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, William Besley, 39, of Hopewell, was transported to the hospital by helicopter with life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 4300 block of Mount Sinai Road. The vehicle, a black two-door Ford sedan, was heading northbound when it ran off the road and struck a tree, The driver was taken by helicopter to the hospital.

Police said cell phone usage may have been a contributing factor. Charges may be filed, pending an investigation
