Petersburg City Public Schools will host its second annual “Feet Meet” on Tuesday, May 2, at Petersburg High School with a rain date of Friday, May 5.

For anyone not familiar with a “Feet Meet, it is a Special Olympics Project UNIFY® event, in partnership with Petersburg City Public Schools and the U.S. Department of Education, in which students with developmental disabilities and their general education peers (buddies) participate in track and field events.

Special Olympics Project UNIFY® is an education-based project that uses sports and education programs to activate young people to develop school communities where all youth are agents of change – fostering respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.

Any individual or organization that is interested in volunteering with the Feet Meet is asked to contact Marvin Talley by email at

A statement released by “Feet Meet” organizers reads, “Thank you in advance for supporting Petersburg City Public Schools.”
