Police charge driver after Hanover crash involving 5 vehicles

On Monday at approximately 12:50 p.m., the Virginia State Police responded to a five-vehicle crash southbound I-95 at the 88 mile marker.

The trooper’s preliminary investigation reveals that traffic came to a stop due to congestion southbound I-95 near the 88 mile maker.  A driver of a dodge sedan rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma pushing it into a Hyundai SUV before it came to rest on top of a guardrail. The Dodge sedan was then struck in the rear by a Nissan Altima and a KIA SUV.

There were no reports of injuries.

The driver of the Dodge sedan was charged with Reckless driving; failure to maintain control.

The crash remains under investigation.
