Police identify Midlothian man that died in Chester crash

Chesterfield County Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened at the intersection of West Hundred Road and Jefferson Davis Highway.

Police said that according to witnesses, the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was traveling east on West Hundred Road, that driver ran a red light and struck a Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to John Randolph Hospital and died from their injuries. Police identified the drive Monday as Daniel Semitschew, 47, of Midlothian. He was transported to John Randolph Hospital where he later died. The driver and passenger of the Explorer were taken to Chippenham Hospital. They both had minor injuries.

Police are still working on notifying next of kin, they will release the identity of the victim after they do so.
