Richmond Police investigating overnight shooting & stabbing

Richmond police are investigating a shooting and a stabbing that happened overnight. The two incidents are not related to each other. The victim of the shooting is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after police located the victim in the 2400 block of Ruffin Road near Jefferson Davis Highway.

A victim was located by police in a separate incident near Armstrong High School on the 2300 block of Selden Street in Fairfield Court. Police say the suspect fled the scene, leaving the victim to die.

Both incidents happened within 20 minutes of each other.

Police have not released information about either suspect or what led to the crimes.
