Three Subjects Charged with Drug and Weapons Offenses after Hit and Run Accident on the Boulevard

On February 21, 2017 at 1:08 p.m., a Colonial Heights police officer observed a blue 1998 Mercedes traveling at a high rate of speed on Archer Avenue. The vehicle attempted to turn south bound onto the Boulevard, but struck a 2014 Nissan taxi cab that was travelling north on the Boulevard. Three subjects exited the Mercedes and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, all three subjects were located and taken into custody. Drugs and an assault style rifle were located in the Mercedes. The driver of the taxi cab and one subject (a passenger) from the Mercedes were transported by Colonial Heights Fire/EMS to Southside Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Ra’Kem Lergerate Harmon was charged with: Felony Hit and Run, Felony Distribution of Marijuana, more than 5 pounds, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Felony Possession of a Firearm While in Possession with Intent to Distribute, Misdemeanor Reckless Driving, Misdemeanor Elude, and Misdemeanor Drive After License is Suspended/Revoked.

Donald Gene Gray Jr. was charged with: Felony Distribution of Marijuana, more than 5 pounds, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted, Violent Felon, Felony Possession Firearm While in Possession with Intent to Distribute, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

Dewante Deablo Ellison, 24 years of age and a Petersburg resident, was transported to the hospital and has the following outstanding warrants: Felony Distribution of Marijuana, more than 5 pounds, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Felony Possession of a Firearm While in Possession with Intent to Distribute. Harmon and Gray are currently being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail pending pretrial on February 22, 2017 in Colonial Heights General District Court.
