A youth pastor from Chester charged with three counts of murder after police say he shot and killed his wife, step-daughter and his step-daughter’s boyfriend Thanksgiving night, will face a three-day trial in November.
On April 11, a judge certified a first degree murder charge against 58-year-old Christopher Gattis for the shooting death of his stepdaughter’s boyfriend, 36-year-old Andrew Buthorn. On April 10, charges were certified against Christopher Gattis for murders of his wife, 58-year-old Jeanett Gattis, and step-daughter, 30-year-old Candice Kunze.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Dogwood Ridge Court off Harrowgate Road around 11:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving last year. That is when responding officers found three victims down with gunshot wounds in the back.
Gattis is currently being held at Riverside Regional Jail for the triple-murder and was denied bond at his first court appearance.
