CNN reported late Tuesday, “The driver of a rental truck drove down a busy bicycle path in New York near the World Trade Center, killing eight people and injuring about a dozen others is what officials said was an “act of terror.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and the families of the victims of this horrific and distressing attack.
Terror still reigns over our world. In a domain that is vastly connected we still face the horrors of these demoralizing attacks. In the wake of the devastation of the most recent occurrence in New York we have to ask the question…when will these horrific and cowardly attacks end?
A nation that inspires freedom and defends those who cannot defend themselves is viciously attacked and our leader’s first wise words are “In NYC, looks like another attack by a very sick and deranged person. Law enforcement is following this closely. NOT IN THE U.S.A.!”
At a time when our country is grieving from another disturbing attack, our leader has very few compassionate words for our country. Instead of using empathetic or thoughtful words our President invokes anger. His words do nothing to help heal the massive wound that has been inflicted on New York. If anything, his words have demanded more and more hate. The President of the Untied States needs to be working towards unity so we heal from these attacks together.
Hopefully, love will shine through this unnecessary act of terror. Not because the President of the United States inspires it but because the great people of this nation demand it.
