Introduction to Cribbage

What:              Join us for instruction and play the game of cribbage. This class will present an overview of the game of cribbage, including basic strategy and how to recognize cards that are likely to produce points.

Pickleball (Rotation Play)

What:              This fast-growing sport is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong played on a badminton-sized court. Pickleball is played with a perforated plastic ball and wooden, composite, or graphite paddle. We will play, rotation play, which is organized play where players line their paddles up. Space is limited on the mezzanine to one court and one dink court.

Fit Warriors: Every day is the Best Day!

What:              Let’s have some fun and get fit! This class is for everyone and accommodates all fitness levels. Come on out on Tuesday evenings to enjoy an action-packed fun workout. With the support and partnership of Sports Backers, Fit to Go, and Richmond City Health District, this Free class provides a total body workout with functional cardio, strength building, flexibility and core exercises. Daytime Fitness Classes for All Skill Levels

What:              It’s a new twist to your usual fitness programs.  For the low monthly fee of $30, you can take as many daytime fitness classes as you wish and come as often as you wish for that month. These classes will consist of Low and High Impact Aerobics, and Chair Fitness. Participants must register one week prior to the start of class. Classes are taught by fitness instructor Kecia Allen. Classes are not held on holidays.

Cognitive Thinking Word Game

What:              Using Piltkin Word Cards, we will be playing a fast-moving and fun word game and memory challenger for vocabulary and spelling. Bob and Barbara Roe, the creators of the game, will give you instructions on the various levels and games within one card game. You are guaranteed to have fun and take home your own game.

Move it with ZUMBA

What:              ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music/dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and “fun and easy to do” workout. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Adults of all ages, come enjoy 5-week sessions with long time instructor Nancy DiLeonardi.

Chair Volleyball for Seniors

What:              Want to enjoy the game of volleyball but can’t take the physical demands that come with it? Come join us for chair volleyball! Chair volleyball is great for upper body mobility and joint flexibility. It enhances your muscle tone, reflexes, hand-to-eye coordination, and endurance. The game is played with a beach ball and a five-foot-high net. Rules are similar to regular volleyball except “cheeks on the chair!”

Pilates with a Twist

What:              Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Pilates helps spinal alignment, balance, back strength, shoulder strength and much more. Instructed by Donna Culley.

What:              Discover opportunities to share memorable moments with your loved one. Learn proven ways to interact and deepen your connection using Montessori activities for all stages of dementia. Classes focus on the capabilities of the person with dementia, open discussion, practice and specific examples to try at home. Caregiver Connection Support Group

What:              Caregiver Connection meets on the first Tuesday of every month and helps to address the needs of those who are caring for an adult with physical or cognitive deterioration, usually a parent or spouse.

Beginner Ukulele: Level 1                                

What:              Have fun while learning how to play a new instrument – the ukulele. Learn basic chords along with a few simple songs and walk away with material and guidance to continue learning at home. This course is perfect for anyone with the desire to learn how to play this smile-inducing instrument while having some fun. Register one week in advance. This class is for brand-new players and those who wish to brush up on the basics of playing. Students will learn easy songs and strumming patterns and start to build a vocabulary of basic chords.

Peace Pilates 

What:              Ready to start your morning with peace? Pilates is a total body workout that strengthens the core, corrects the spine and increases mental aptitude. Pilate participants have achieved many physical corrections in their body through consistent classes. Due to modifications offered, there is no required skill level for this class and a chair or mat can be used. This class is a great way to relieve stress and start your morning. Sculpting with a Blast

What:              This non-aerobic, muscle toning class is a great full-body workout but has a focus on core strength. Let’s fire up your metabolism while utilizing all your muscle groups to help you achieve a total “sculpted” effect with instructor Donna Culley. This class has a mixture of floor and standing movements to get your heart pumping. A warm-up and cool down will take place at the beginning and end of each class.

Yoga for Tots  

What:              Have your students find their center and balance, while learning various beginner yoga poses and the benefits of yoga. Joint & Muscular Pain Alleviation

What:              Having issues with joint or muscle pain? Come receive help alleviating that pain with a mixture of comprehensive yoga and posture alignment routines.
